User agreement

rentbalkans.com is a car rental platform connecting independent local rental companies with renters. This agreement sets out the terms of use of the platform.

1. Parties and nature of the service

The platform is not the direct provider of the rental service. Between the user and the platform there is only a booking and intermediary service relationship; the rental contract is signed with the local company at pick-up.

2. Driver and document requirements

Minimum age, licence period and document requirements vary by company and country and are shown in each car’s conditions. If the car cannot be handed over because valid documents are not presented, the booking counts as cancelled by the user.

3. Damage, accidents and cover

In accidents, damage, theft and third-party claims the process is between the user and the company. Damage must be reported to the local police; without a report, cover may not apply. Cover products are provided by the rental company.

4. Cross-border travel

Leaving the country is only possible with the company’s permission and only to the allowed countries. Cross-border permission (Green Card) is provided by the company; personal visas and documents are the user’s responsibility.

5. Payment and currency

The booking currency is set by the company’s country (Türkiye: ₺; other countries: €) and the whole booking runs in that currency; no conversion is made. The online prepayment, whose amount is shown at the payment step, is RentBalkans’ booking service fee. The amount remaining after the prepayment is deducted from the total, and the deposit, are paid directly to the company at pick-up; RentBalkans does not collect or hold money on the company’s behalf. Instalments are offered only for ₺ payments with Turkish-issued cards. Refunds go to the same card in the payment currency.
