How ranking works

The default “Recommended” order in search results is a weighted score of the objective criteria below. The weights shown on this page are always current.

Price

The daily rental price for your dates. Among the offers in the same search, a lower price scores higher.

Company rating

The average rating given only by customers who actually rented. With few reviews the rating is pulled towards the overall average (4.0), so a single review does not decide the order.

Instant confirmation

Whether the booking is confirmed immediately on payment. Offers that wait for the company’s approval get no points for this criterion.

Deposit

The deposit taken at pick-up. Offers with no or a low deposit score higher.

Commission and payments do not affect the order

The commission rate rental companies pay RentBalkans, or any other payment, is not a criterion in the “Recommended” order. All companies are ranked by the same rules.

Advertising

Rental companies can pay to be featured. These offers appear only in the “Recommended” order, at most 2 per page, at the top and clearly labelled “Ad”. To be shown, the company rating must be at least 4.0 and the daily price must not exceed 125% of the median price of offers in the same class; offers that do not qualify are not shown even if paid for. There are no ads when sorting by price, lowest deposit or rating.

Use the “Sort” menu above the results to order by lowest price, lowest deposit or highest rating; then only the chosen criterion is used.

How reviews are published

Only customers who completed their rental can write a review. Positive and negative reviews are published alike; only insults, personal data or off-topic content are removed.
